From the 3rd of February 2019 smoking inside the terminal buildings is strictly prohibited with incentives for people to report smokers and severe penalties.

Smoking is available only in dedicated smoking area outside the terminal building.

 

It is important to note that the Thai Government is taking this very seriously and being caught smoking in non smoking areas has lead to heavy fines and even imprisonment.  Do not risk it!
