Christchurch Airport has recently made changes to provide better areas for smokers to prevent people from milling around the front of the terminal building.
Smoking areas are on Ground Level:
Exit the terminal between the New Zealand The GIft shop and the Travelex counter. Turn right and you will see a smoking shelter next to the drop off / car park area.
Other smoking areas are located outside the international arrivals hall and outside the regional terminal
