UPDATED:
From 3rd of February 2019 smoking areas inside the terminals are CLOSED.
Smoking is only allowed in dedicated areas outside with harsh penalties for smoking outside these areas.
There is no smoking past security.
It is important to note that the Thai Government is taking this very seriously and being caught smoking in non smoking areas has lead to heavy fines and even imprisonment. Do not risk it!
